Technical Training Specialist
The Technical Training Specialist has proven expertise in development, design and facilitation of skills training for employees within the Contact Center and its client partners. This position combines in-depth knowledge of adult learning and skill development, various forms of instructional media, and facilitation expertise. Technical expertise including hardware, operating system and Windows based applications as well as other peripheral “gadgets” including digital cameras, MP3 players is required. Additionally, this person will have knowledge of call center strategies and work flows from a Solutions Engineer level to the “floor” level which will ensure that development of training materials supports call center processes. • Design, develop and implement training for the Contact Center employees from new hire through ongoing development.
• Can independently develop entry and advanced level courses utilizing multimedia technology and authoring tools.
• Facilitate and conduct training and other similar initiatives through a variety of channels including, but not limited to: telephone conference call; lecture-style/classroom virtual training; passive and other non-interactive channels.
• Develop knowledge resources, documentation of policy and procedure and manage publications in a way that CC employees have what they need at their finger tips.
• Participate in the design, development, and implementation of strategies that establish and define communication protocols.
• Maintain the complete repository of business documents, to include version control and dissemination protocols, while ensuring the accuracy, availability, reliability and consistency of those documents both vertically and horizontally across the Contact Center.
• Use a variety of training and development strategies to ensure SEs have the right training at the right time in the best format for application and retention.
• Measure development efforts to ensure SEs work at the caliber of skill needed in the quickest time frame.
• Interact with Engineering, Product Development and Business Development to understand new businesses and technologies that will need to be disseminated to the Contact Center. Manage training and development projects. Effectively identify timelines, appropriate content, obtain documentation, and ensure resources, recommend approaches and ensure training and information are provided to the Contact Center in a timely manner.
• Design and develop materials for External Partners who will use our tools and resources to interact with our customers and SEs.
• Maintain a deep understanding of the position of SE. Technical needs, process challenges, customer interactions, tools and technologies to provide solutions, etc. so that training can be implemented “on the fly”, real time, whenever the situation warrants.
• Develop a rapport with SEs so that high levels of credibility are associated with materials, communications, support, and skills provided.
• Identify and develop new or improved training products/services/strategies and resources, etc. utilizing knowledge of training trends and recent technical developments. Communicate these new trends and approaches to management.
• Develop procedures, processes and/or methods for implementing training/technical requirements, including lessons learned.
Qualifications
• BS or equivalent work experience in training development and instructional design.
• Must have an understanding of how to create web-based training and e-learning programs.
• Minimum of 3 or more years experience working with hw/sw technology in a help desk environment.
• Demonstrates and utilizes effective needs analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills.
• Demonstrated and successful management of multiple projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to read and interpret complex technical information, facilitate training, make presentations, influence leaders and staff, and listen attentively.
• Demonstrated ability to “translate” complex and technically oriented procedures, processes and concepts into rather “generic” language that less technical personnel can readily and reliably comprehend, and take action upon.
• Must have working knowledge of technical support processes and strategies in a call center environment.
• Must be familiar with Microsoft desktop operating systems, upgrades,
Active Directory, remote troubleshooting of desktops, network connectivity (LAN/WAN), malware ID and removal, software usage and licensing.
• Must have extensive exposure to all Microsoft applications (basic knowledge of server side OS and development tools), IT processes and internet protocols.
• Must have working knowledge of the following-
• Setup and installation of machines (Software/Hardware) and peripheral devices including routers, telephones, etc.
• Internet applications — Email, IM, Web Browsers, proxy issues

JOB SUMMARY
Position involves building and nurturing client relationships, greeting guests, guest services, answering phones, setting appointments, and various light clerical and/or housekeeping duties.

SKILLS & TRAITS

The Alaska Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired is looking for an Outreach Associate to find Mat-Su residents with uncorrectable vision loss and provide them access to vision rehabilitation services to improve their overall health, wellbeing, and quality of life. The outreach associate will work from home and travel throughout the Mat-Su Borough developing and maintaining re-lationships with eye doctors, senior providers, and others in a position to refer and making presentations to community groups. In addition, the outreach associate will provide intake and referral support to clients, schedule and coordinate services, and provide for peer networking and social opportunities.
Professional liability insurance provided. Necessary computer and office equipment provided. Mileage reimbursement and monthly contribution to cell phone. Option for pre-tax employee 403(b) retirement savings.
Required Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in vision rehabilitation, health care, human services, or a related field. Proven successful experience in health care, senior services, or client services for people with disabilities. A satisfactory report from a criminal background check is required. Preferred: Successful experience working in the vision rehabilitation field.
Working Conditions:
• Work is conducted in the outreach associate’s home and in medical or agency offices and vari-ous venues throughout the Mat-Su Valley. Work may sometimes be conducted in clients’ homes.
• The work schedule is variable depending on planned activities and will include occasional eve-nings and weekends (estimated two times per quarter).
• Regular travel throughout the Mat-Su Valley is required, using a personal vehicle or an alternate pre-approved arrangement.
